Welcome to Residual, where we’re dedicated to transforming the carbon removal landscape. Our expertise in designing, de-risking, and delivering high-quality removal credits—alongside brokering long-term offtake agreements—bridges the carbon removal financing gap. By uniting industrial partners, financiers, and technology providers, we turn carbon removal projects into reality. Our end-to-end platform streamlines project data collection and management, making scalable delivery achievable.
The carbon removal market faces a significant challenge: the supply of durable carbon removal credits is currently limited and costly. Industrial supply chains present a vast but underutilized opportunity to contribute to carbon dioxide removal.
Residual is designed to bridge this gap. Our platform focuses on increasing the supply of high-quality carbon removals by leveraging industrial assets and enhancing technologies such as biomass-based carbon removal and enhanced rock weathering. We believe that these sectors alone have the potential to durably remove up to 12% of global emissions.
At Residual, we’re not just creating a platform; we’re building a future where durable carbon removals are more accessible, affordable, and impactful. Join us on our journey to unlock the full potential of carbon removal and make a tangible difference in the fight against climate change.
We connect our clients with key buyers and negotiate long-term offtake agreements on their behalf. Our industry-leading experience in carbon markets positions us uniquely to broker these contracts.
We handle the end-to-end creation of the carbon credit. From life-cycle assessment through to registry, ratings and insurance, we derisk the credits and take them to market.
We work with developers to create high-quality projects that attract buyers and generate high-quality carbon insets. Our expertise ensures that projects are designed for success from the outset.
We are a one-stop shop for project development within industrial supply chains. Our platform will deliver project design documentation, data monitoring and validation reports, carbon rating and insurance preparation, and life cycle assessments. We will leverage generative AI to automate and streamline the project development process, making carbon removal easier, faster, and scalable.

Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) integrates energy production, natural carbon removal, and geological storage. This process involves using biomass as fuel to produce energy while capturing the resulting CO2 emissions for storage underground. By doing so, BECCS not only generates energy but also achieves negative emissions.
Enhanced weathering, or enhanced mineralisation, removes atmospheric carbon geochemically. Weathering is a naturally occurring process that converts 1 billion tons of CO₂ into minerals annually. Enhancing this process through human intervention can accelerate the rate of carbon removal. Silicate rocks, such as basalt and olivine, are mined, then undergo a grinding process to form a powder that is spread over large areas of soil. This powder reacts with atmospheric CO₂ to form stable carbonate minerals which permanently store the carbon.
Biochar uses biological carbon removal. When biomass and other organic materials are burned in a low oxygen environment, a process called pyrolysis, the carbon inside the biomass transforms to a state where it cannot decay - known as biochar. It is then spread over soil or buried to store carbon in the land.
